Our Beginning

A personal idea became a design philosophy.

Akashi Designs was founded in 2018 by a lady architect deeply inspired by Southern-style architecture, whose fascination with country living began long before the company itself.

She was drawn to the spirit of country life: open spaces, horses and cattle, road trips, country music, evenings around a fire, rugged vehicles and homes built around generous porches. More than the aesthetic, she loved what that lifestyle represented — freedom, warmth, family, community and a closer relationship with nature.

That inspiration became a mission to design homes where families, couples, relatives and friends naturally spend more time together.

A home should do more than shelter people. It should create the spaces where relationships grow.

Our Design Philosophy

Country living, reimagined for modern families.

Our signature style draws from Southern, country, ranch, farmhouse and cottage architecture — deep porches, welcoming interiors, natural materials, practical layouts and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor life.

We believe some of life's most meaningful relationships are built at home: around a dining table, over coffee on the porch, while grilling with friends, beside a fireplace or during conversations around a bonfire.

We also believe architecture should coexist with nature rather than compete with it. Natural light, fresh air, gardens, views and outdoor gathering spaces should become part of everyday living.
